For most of us in the U.S., our primary association with April 15 is not a happy one: federal income taxes are due. But for 2015, April 15 can have a much more positive association—the beginning of World Creativity and Innovation Week. According to their website:
During World Creativity and Innovation Week April 15 – 21 people are acknowledged, informed, inspired and encouraged to use their creativity – to be open to and generate new ideas, to be open to and make new decisions and to be open to and take new actions – that make the world a better place and to make their place in the world better too.
WCIW is a do-ocracy, a DIY (do it yourself) celebration. It’s something you create it for your home, your school, your community, your business, your customers.
The World Creativity website (and Twitter feed) will spend the next several months building to the annual celebration. You’ll find resources for sparking creativity, examples from previous years, and creativity research to make you think.
